Historic Sites on the Upper Choptank River

 

The Upper Choptank River is rich with historic sites connected to small farmers and merchants, African-Americans. and the Colonial and Early American history of Caroline, Talbot, and Dorchester Counties (from which Caroline County was formed), and of Maryland at large. Historic sites along this section of the river are listed below in the order in which you would encounter them while travelling upriver from the mouth of the Tuckahoe to sites above the town of Greensboro.
