The Historic Landscape of Caroline County

Choptank River Heritage Sites Research with Online Maps
Hundreds of historic sites and structures have been identified from historical maps and biographies through the efforts of CCHS partners such as Old Harford Town Maritime Center, Choptank River Heritage, and the Caroline Digital History Project. These sites have been geolocated in the modern landscape and are presented in digital maps which are hosted at CCHS’s ArcGIS Portal.
Links below take you to online maps of historic sites in each category.
See our Choptank River Heritage Sites Research map application for the geographic locations of all documented sites. These sites can be viewed over a variety of topographic, satellite and aerial imagery, and historic basemaps.
Many of the historic sites are described in detail here in the CCHS web site. Use the website search box above to find pages and posts for sites by name.
