“In 1884 this building (Chinquapin) was moved about a mile west of the village [Burrsville] to a corner of the county farm where it has since been used as a colored school.” (Cochrane)
1897 Saulsbury Map “Colored School” and USGS Denton 1905 topo church label correlate with Cochrane. Street map shows site at County Farm Rd x Dead End Rd. Site and geo coords are inside the road fork. Burrsville (colored) is listed in DJ 1896 school expenditures but Chinquapin is not. Neither Burrsville nor Chinquapin are listed as colored schools in DJ 1928 probable complete list. So, last documented date is Cochrane (1920). DJ 1896 list school no. 2. Located in 1896 Election Dist. No. 3.
