M. F. Allaband was listed as a sawmiller at Denton in the 1887 State business directory. (John J. McGrain, Caroline County Molinography)
The 1875 Isler Map of Caroline County shows a steam sawmill (SSM) in West Denton near the bridge. This may be the Allaband sawmill. A grist mill (GM) was shown north of Saulsbury’ Branch just north of Denton. Neither mill appears in the 1897 Saulsbury map of the county.
