The William Still Family Interpretive Center and Historic Site
Caroline County 4-H Park, 8230 Detour Road, Denton, MD 21629
Special guest
Honorable Boyd Rutherford, Lt. Governor of Maryland, who helped facilitate the project.
The building, a former “slave quarters”, relates events in Caroline County that led to William Still becoming the “Father of the Underground Railroad” in America.
The site also interprets the harsh lives of tenant farmers in the early 19th century as well as Indian-settler conflicts in the 17th century.
